Single Word Study for 2015: LOVINGKINDNESS

Kind - having feelings, befitting our common nature; benevolent; well-disposed; also, showing kindness or tenderness; gracious. Syn. Kind, kindly, gentle, sympathy, gracious, merciful, goodness affectionate.

God in his greatness shows LOVINGKINDNESS.

Psalm 5:7 - "But as for me, by Thine abundant lovingkindness I will enter Thy house, at The holy temple I will bow in reverence for Thee."

Psalm 59:16 - "But as for me, I shall sing of Thy strength; yes, I shall joyfully sing of Thy lovingkindness in the morning, for Thou hast been my stronghold, and a refuge in the day of my distress.  O, my strength, I will sing praises to Thee; for God is my stronghold, the God who shows me lovingkindness.

The Word of the Year started many years ago (probably about 5 yrs. ago) when Mary Kathryn gave me a book on forgiveness.  The word "forgiveness" seemed to haunt me that year.  I prayed about forgiving myself for things I had regretfully done, forgiving people in my past who hurt me, forgiving those in the present who offend me, and prepare myself to be a forgiving person in the future.  Forgiveness - one of the best words to meditate and pray over.

Each year since my "forgiving year", I have concentrated on one word.  Some words that have provided spiritual growth as my "word of the year" are: grace, mercy, thankfulness, peace, and choices.  I pray God will use the word kind / kindness / lovingkindness to show me how to change and grow closer to Him.  I admire kind people, and I want to be more kind. I thank God for His lovingkindness!
